The Gailes Associates
Club Championships have just concluded and congratulations go to
our 2007 Club Champion Jessica Horton who defeated Jill Cavanagh
9&8 in the 36 hole match play final on Tuesday July 10. In the B
Grade final over 18 holes Biddy Anderson defeated Bev Stone 6&5.
The C Grade final was contested over 36 holes and won by
Margaret Michael with a gross score of 203. It is the first time
that Jess Horton, handicap 4, has her name on the Gailes
Championship Cup, and her golf was worthy of the honour. The
final hole (the 10th) saw Jess claim victory with an astounding
280 metre drive, followed by a chip to 6 feet … well done Jess!
At the conclusion of the Championship final the players and
supporters followed tradition by enjoying lunch and celebratory
drinks in the Associates room downstairs. Congratulations to all
the Championship winners for 2007. |
